2 Guys 1 Clan - The Hutt Clan Consortium Takes Shape
Posted by: Ozzy Vazul, Vaz! Media
Date: Year 22 Day 234 Onboard the C-3 Passenger Liner The Irreverent Mango in system Ord Cantrell (-21, 264).

The HoloCam droid hovers down to a set where two Besalisks sit across from each other, one on a couch and one in a chair. The droid picks up on their conversation on what appears to be a talk-show style set.

“Just wait until you see his eyes,” says the one on the couch in a whisper. “They freak me out. I can’t look at them for more than a few seconds. The way they pierce your skin, it’s like he can read your mind. He scares the poodoo outta me, seriously, just-”

“Alston on set!” comes a voice from behind the camera. Silence fills the room before a double set of doors swing open. A moment later, a tall Pau’an drifts into view from the right of the camera and sits on the couch. He nods briefly to both of the Besalisks before the same voice begins a countdown. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…

“Welcome back to Vaz! Media!” says Ozymandias Vazul, the Besalisk seated in the chair. “Today we’ll be speaking with Alston Nailo and Burgo NaKuda, the two new owners of Frost Industries, now renamed to Outer Rim Supply,” he says, gesturing to the two on the couch. “Gentlemen, welcome. Now, what can you tell us about the recent merger? How did you two meet?”

The duo looks at each other and Alston says “Burgo and I have known each other for a while now. If I remember correctly, it was a series of business transactions. He submitted a few ships to the auction house I was running at the time and from there, our friendship grew, as well as our business relationship.”

“Yeah, that’s ringing a bell,” says Burgo. “We’ve known each other for a while now. Wait, did you already say that?”

“Yes, I did,” replies the Pau’an. The two sit in silence and stare directly into the camera with awkward smiles.

“Well, not much of an exciting origin story! What brought you two together to open Outer Rim Supply?” asks Ozzy.

“I approached Alston a few weeks back about a conglomerization,” starts Burgo. “I’ve known about the Freebooters Union, I know they’re a good bunch over there. Alston’s a guy with an eye on the future, and that’s what I felt we were missing. We’ve got a good thing going on with Port Nowhere, don’t get me wrong, but it was getting away from me. I wasn’t prepared for the size of the operation we were starting,” says Burgo. “So I thought bringing someone else on would help manage everything.”

“It’s a big galaxy out there Ozzy, and we’re beginning to see that these large groups of companies are vying for control against the governments that have had their time in the spotlight. Mecrosa, the Cantrell Conglomerate, groups like that,” says Alston. “By forming our new consortium, we’re hoping to take the stage and show that we’ve got what it takes to do the same.

“Now Burgo, what do you have to say about the accusation that you’re the newest Majordomo for the Hutt Grand Council?” asks Ozzy.

“Ummm,” Burgo looks off set behind him as a bead of sweat rolls down his face. The HoloCam droid swivels and zooms in on a Gamorrean and a Weequay off-screen shaking their heads. Burgo crosses his arms and frowns “No comment.”

“Alright then, next question! What’s the working name of the conglomerate? What should we start calling you all by?”

“That would be the Hutt Clan Consortium, Ozzy,” says Burgo confidently. Alston shakes his head with his face in his hands.

“Oh, okay then. No relation to the Hutt Clan and the Hutt Grand Council?”

“Well then gentlemen, thank you for your time. Anything you’d like to say to the audience?”

“Thank you Ozzy, it’s been a pleasure,” says Alston.

“Thank you two! From our studio here on Ord Cantrell, thank you for joining us!” says Ozymandias. “And goodnight!”
