Following a repetitive Rebel Alliance propaganda warning about the Zann Consortium causing mischief around the planet Kowak, before being driven away, the underworld network known for its intergalactic transgressions breaks their silence on the events.

It has been confirmed that 18 A-Wings between the Rebel Alliance and Blue Star Dominion as well as 2 MC-30B corvettes and 4 Resistance satellites were all destroyed in an attack on the Kowak system. Consortium sources speculate two Blue Star officers were shot down and forced to eject in an escape pod during the battle, one of which was confirmed as Taranjeek O`Cuinn. No further identities have been confirmed as of yet. After the debris and wreckage had cleared, it was apparent Zann had only sustained minimal losses.

The attack began with a Defiler vanguard lead by Ximaro Jix himself, Crime Lord of Zann, destroying the satellites to not only provoke a response from the Consortium’s enemies, but to also eliminate any potential intelligence on Zann’s ship movements once the fighting ensued. When officers of the Dominion arrived with their allies, they were quickly swarmed and overwhelmed by Consortium fighters and corvettes. With a monetary and technological advantage with ships that cost them a fraction of what the public would be charged to be produced, Blue Star and Rebel Alliance pilots were unable to outmaneuver and adapt to the tactics of the assault force known colloquially as the “Soul Reavers”. 

A small holo recording of the briefing was shown to news media officials which showed from left to right: Bork Shalas, Ximaro Jix and Zane Apex meeting with pilots of the space assault wing of Zann, prior to mission launch. In the meeting, Ximaro explained that it was their honor to support their allies, the Kowakian Cartel, in the cartel's resistance against unjust law and order.

From there, a witness to the events first hand, Deputy Director Jonas Kanuteau of the Rebel Alliance explained on the ground, intense fighting and increased raids on peacekeeping patrols continued to fuel the instability. He further illustrated that with a threat to the economic growth of the government, he and his allies were doing everything in their power to quell the insurrection. Jonas stated authoritively “There is no Kowakian Cartel. These are Zannie insurgents misled by the syndicates' corruptive influence who persist in ambushing military convoys and troopers making this situation tumultuous.”

With irregular warfare being known to create longer conflicts due to an enemy that is harder to pinpoint and destroy, Blue Star loyalists like David Archer may disagree but understand the value of unconventional fighting and how it can be exhaustive for the opposition. David, a veteran of many conflicts himself, explained “Zann rarely goes into a battle with full numbers because it wants not only to weaken its enemy, but also damage their morale.” 

Tactics like these are not unique to the alleged piratical cultists, with several other forces throughout the galaxy’s history adopting them; many of which have used them in the past to resist their Imperial overlords. 

“What is referred to as piracy and terrorism is born from poverty and oppression. What the patriots of the former republic call partisanship, we call hypocrisy.” Ximaro Jix stated.

“When combating the Galactic Alliance, guerilla tactics in space assist our Defiler cells on the ground or during covert intel operations so we may keep our enemy distracted” Bork Shalas, Komoniic (Crime Boss of Operations) the tactical commander of the Reavers explained. 

A restless Jonas later interjected during another interview saying he felt that perhaps the entire raid was staged by Zann, to show off several of their own MC-30 B's. Corvettes he assured reporters were smuggled out of Blue Star territory not long prior. Kanuteau then insisted that Blue Star failed to capture their assailants whom they set traps for. No official statements regarding the matter have been made by the Dominion but several traders have reported seeing Defilers piloting similar looking corvettes around the Sevetta sector.

With galactic chaos like this and more crimes than cannot be easily counted, citizens of civilized worlds are left with a feeling of despair. They are wondering what will come next as ZC (Zann Consortium) steps into a new era of progessive change within the galaxy. Will Kowak be targeted again by the red veil? Will the Imperial Union finally end the rebellion? Or will both  GA and IU combine forces to end the only threat to both?

No one knows, but what everyone does know: everyone is scum to someone. Zann just doesn’t deny they are to the galaxy. Keep it real and keep it sleazy.
