Tipoca City, Kamino – The First Galactic Civil War, known either as the Clone War or the ‘War of Coreworld Aggression’ depending on where you are from, happened almost fifty standard years ago, but if you visited Kamino recently, you might be forgiven for thinking it was still ongoing. Last week, over one thousand clones stood in formation to witness a historic ceremony where the original genetic template of the Galactic Republic’s clone soldier was returned to its sea-covered homeworld.



Kamino was the secret laboratory world that began producing what would become the Republic’s Grand Army sometime prior to Year 23 BGCT. However, the last of the original Kaminoan cloning facilities and their genetic databases were destroyed around Year 10 BGCT, when the Galactic Empire formally disbanded the last of the clone units and discontinued the cloning program. When Kamino Cloning Facilities resumed production of clone soldiers in cooperation with The Resistance, they edited, augmented, and developed new templates. Meanwhile, the original genetic blueprint of the once-ubiquitous clone trooper was thought to have been lost to time. However, all that changed in late Year 21 when the Kaminoans began working with scientists from Ternion Corps - a scientific cooperation which engendered warmer relations between Ternion and The Resistance itself. Last week’s ceremony cemented the relationship as representatives from Ternion Corps presented the Kaminoans with a copy of the original clone soldier template which Ternion had previously recovered and had been safeguarding for several years. For the first time in nearly half a century, the same faces and voices that once deployed from Kamino to fight Separatist forces will now be seen and heard in the floating cities again.



At the conclusion of the ceremony, Governor General Rex Republica, of The Republic Protectorate and The Reformed Army of the Republic, Jedi General Vir Calder, Jedi Commander Con Semper, and Colonel Zal Ragath of Ternion Corps and Minister Na Su alongside Resistance Generals Xitwa, Vandron, and Descartes signed agreements to formalize relations between the two forces. Going forward, the two heirs of the Grand Army of the Republic would now be united in a common battle to restore the freedom and way of life that their ancestors were created, fought, and died to preserve.
