Trade Federation Deals Swiftly with "Threat"
Posted by: Nereus Eruresto, Trade Federation
Date: Year 5 Day 217 Onboard the Pnath-class Shuttle TFN Sentinel in system Vinsoth.

::The screen flashes to the Trade Federation logo before fading out to an image of lush green hills. The people are relaxed, enjoying the cool temperature and going about their business. You quickly recognise the Trade Federation Government building and realise this new scene is from Vinsoth. A large group seems to be gathering around the southern wing of the building and the camera quickly zooms in to show a podeum surrounded by galactic new reporters. After a couple of seconds, a tall Corellian in a long coat, and with a black quarterstaff etched with dark red and light blue markings slung over his shoulder, walks briskly to the podeum. Two commander battle droids walk mechanically on either side of him, holding their blaster rifles to their shoulders. A smile lights up his face as he greets the reporters, but soon disappears as he continues talking::

Greetings, Galactic News Reporters, Trade Federation Citizens, and sentients all over the galaxy. Today, a terrorist to the Trade Federation met his fate. This terrorist, although not a viable threat, in any sense of the word, to the Trade Federation, attempted to make a mockery of the Trade Federation and its fine leader, Viceroy Corbin Esco, by placing a bounty on his head with a galactic Bounty Hunter's group. His reason: the Trade Federation had not accepted him into their faction quickly enough. The Trade Federation immediately dispatched diplomats, who spoke with friends and those in leadership roles over the terrorist, Ryan Strider, to convince him that it was not rational to do such a thing and to even warn him of the consequences. Foolishly, he refused to remove his bounty on the Trade Federation leader that he had placed without even knowing the leader's name! He had, even if in a minor way, endangered the life of our leader. And indirectly plotted to have him killed, even if he did not want to get his hands dirty. Such an insult and agression cannot go unpunished. Foolish men will do foolish things for money, and rather than killing bounty hunters we chose to eliminate the problem at the root. Any agression against the Trade Federation, direct or indirect, will have a reaction. We are a peaceful government, based on trade. But we are nonetheless capable and willing to defend ourselves from any threat, however big or small. This should serve as an example to anyone foolish enough to atempt something like this in the future. If you believe you have been wronged by the Trade Federation, then come speak to us. But a dagger in our backside will be met with a dagger in the throat. The Trade Federation's integrity and strength was being tested, and we don't fail tests, nor do we shirk them, should one come our way.

Together with Hapan Intelligence, the Trade Federation was able to track down the location of the this terrorist within 36 hours and bring him to justice a few days later. Much thanks goes to Hapes Consortium and their leader King Jesse James for their effective and quick response in this endeavor.

::Nereus turns to the right as a projection begins showing a city street, bustling with vendors and sentients from all over the galaxy. The wind is blowing strong as the camera moves through the crowd, bumping into a sentient or two amidst the massive crowds. The many sentients kick up dust from the desert floor as they walk::

Yesterday, while this terrorist Ryan was busy looking through vendors' carts on this very city street you see on the projection right now, a shadow covered the street as my Pnath Shuttle landed. Ryan had been waiting a pickup from a friendlier source. His face when I descended the landing ramp only feet in front of him with a small squadron of battle droids behind me was priceless. I immediately arrested him, and told him of his rights and the situation and reason for his arrest. I held him under arrest for two days, giving him a chance to speak for himself and make wrongs right, but alas, he refused. The terrorist was stubborn, refusing to save his own life. His trial proceeded in the Cabinet without him because he refused to speak. He was found guilty of an Assassination Plot Attempt and sentenced to execution. Ryan Strider was given a humane execution, the Trade Federation finds no pleasure in executions. He faced his fate across this very alleyway from a firing squad of battle droids.

::As Nereus continues to talk the projection continues to explore the street and into a dark alleyway, as the camera adjusts to the dark setting, you can begin to see blood stains on the wall. Nereus looks sober as he adresses the reporters::

This is the blood of Ryan Strider, the latest terrorist to threaten the Trade Federation, and like all of the others has fallen. We all hope it will be the last.

::The camera fades back to the Trade Federation logo before returning to normal broadcasting::
