Several months ago however they finally decided to take at least one stand, Imperials would no longer be allowed to shop at Eidola Pawnshops that fenced stolen goods. A decree was issued and given to all Imperial members stating:
Trading with pirates/rebels/traitors can bring severe punishment upon yourself. Do not be caught unaware. This includes trading with Teniel Djo and anyone associated with Eidola.
Today however, press photographers caught none other than the Chairman of Imperial Holdings Inc, Uther von Kaldreon, doing just that.
Pictured above is the leader of Cloud City and BST Extractions and Transportation, who posted last week that they were the official nationalized factions of the glorious Imperial Remnant...trading with Teniel Djo. More surprising, his purchase was a stolen YT-2000!
Has what was once a powerful government, really been reduced to purchasingthe cheap stolen contraband of pirates that they claim to fight? Are they really putting your tax dollars into the hands of the terrorists?
You might be wondering how Kaldreon manages to explain away this seeming contradiction, a powerful Imperial figure caught trading with somebody that Imperial Law forbids him to trade with. For that, we need only look at the logs of his conversations with Teniel during the handoff.
Teniel: ah, so I guess it's safe to say that the Trading Embargo rules don't apply to you?
Uther: Yup
Uther: Everything the nats do goes through me first to review
Uther: plus ... no one ever told me I couldn't trade
Uther: Besides I don't think 5m is going to upset the balance of GE to Eidola
Uther: rofl
Uther is indeed a true Imperial, impotent, a failed leader and prone to killing his own faction members for reasons that one can only assume transcend valid reasons in our own sphere and must exist OOC (Out-of-consciousness)...but unaware that he's not allowed to buy stolen property from Eidola? When the Remnant holosite clearly forbids him from doing so under penalty of "severe punishment"? As precedent, Talos Kraiden, an Imperial pilot, was executed by the Imperial Remnant as punishment for being caught trading with Teniel in his business dealings...was this not enough to deter Uther from meeting a similar fate? Or did he believe that his own government would not dare to uphold their own laws?
