Ecclesia Magna: Office of the Vicarius Maximus

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
From the Office of Grand Vicar Cronus IX

His Holiness, Cronus the Ninth of His Name, Vicarius Maximus of the High Synod of the Ecclesiarchy, has found the faith of the galaxy's denizens wanting.  Fearing that their immortal souls will be condemned to the Nine Hells for the wanton abandonment of the Gods, His Holiness has decided to offer monthly homilies first to the Faithful then to the galaxy as a whole.  While he hopes many will find the True Faith and embrace the Gods, he will be content for them to pause and reflect on their actions and the actions of those around them.

If you or your organization would be interested in a sermon dedicated to a particular subject or deity, please contact the Office of the Vicarius Maximus directly.

Thirteen blessings.

Years ago, the heretical cult of "the Way" preached, among other lies that only a sinful monotheistic heresy can develop, that meekness is the perfect path.  They refused to use a starship if it had weapons.  They abandoned the Maker, our great Lord Ziysan, for a misguided pacifism.

My children, even Aldar the Serene, peacemaker of the Gods, does not endorse pacifism.  Peace, yes, but not meekness.  Never meekness.  Diplomats must be brave, strong as any warrior for theirs is a war of words and hearts.  The most devout followers of Aldar acknowledge that sometimes the Peacemaker walks hand in hand with Irido.  Sometimes war, or the threat of war, brings a greater peace than mere words ever can.

The heretical cult of the Nefas, a Wayist schism, was the opposite.  They embraced terror and destruction, death and murder.  While a little chaos is healthy, for it keeps people aware of their surroundings and on their toes, chaos without moderation leads to inevitable collapse and failure.

As followers of the Thirteen, we should cherish peace but never shy away from a just conflict.  Ziysan demands balance; He requires moderation.  All the Gods answer to Him, and so do we all.

Go forth and bring all you meet into Their grace.
