A storm raced across the unknown planet. Lightning could be seen dotting the country side from the venue. The assembled crowd was glancing around, awaiting the speaker. Most had been brought here with similar backgrounds or interests, but one thing stood out; all non-humans. A few flags fluttered in the wind of the coming storm. Adorned with a strange symbol not many had seen, the flags seemed almost defiant to the storm. Without any fan fare a large hulking figure walked up to the podium, flanked by a protocol droid. The figure became more clear as a Talz once he was positioned at the podium before the group of gathered beings. He slowly raised both arms and started emitting noises, as the droid then proceeded to translate.
Grizzik addressing the crowd.
“Welcome one and all. My name is Grizzik Lo-Lo, former chieftain of the great tundra wastes on Alzoc III. I come to you today to address something very, very close to me. When I say my title I always place ‘former’ before it. Can anyone tell me why?”
The droid stopped translating and Grizzik stood quiet as some in the crowd yelled out answers. Shaking his head Grizzik continued.
“One word. That word is Oppression.”
Some confused beings in the crowd yelled questions or jeered Grizzik, he raised one of his hands for silence.
“Oppression from many enemies but they share a common thread. They all share the basic genetic code as Humans!”
Slamming his large fist on the podium he looked across all the different races assembled.
“Humans, so vast in their numbers that they challenge your common womp rat as vermin in our galaxy. Their very existence has torn the galaxy apart. From civil wars to slavery. From abductions to executions. These ‘creatures’, inferior to you and I in every way, have caused more strife in our galaxy in the past twenty standard years than the whole of our existences combine. I come before you today to say this; it ends today.”
“The true stewards of the galaxy are here, before you. From Nal Hutta to my once proud home land of Alzoc III. Known as ‘Aliens’ to these humans, we will no longer stand idly by while they enslave and murder our families. It is time the tide shifts. Be you a Dug, Yuzzum, Ewok or Wookiee, our destiny has been a long time in the making. No longer will we bend the knee, no longer shall we turn a blind eye to these ‘vermin’. They are a plague that must be eradicated and snuffed out.”
The murmurs that started before slowly turn to some cheering and clapping.
“I come forth with a declaration not of Revenge, malice or even retribution. I bring you a statement of Justice! An idea that the wrongs from the past and today shall be rectified in like, through judgement by the rightful heirs to our galaxy. The so called ‘Aliens’. Us!”
More of the crowd clapped and raised their hands.
“Years after being forcibly taken from my family, I never thought I would end up here before you, truthful and full of conviction. I have fought the good fight, I have fought the odds and won, with that win I kept my life and the urge to drive forward. I’m sure many of you here are wondering ‘So what does this mean?’ Or possibly ‘Where do I fit in?’ That is the simplest answer that could be given. We belong together. Diverse in our Alliance and friendship to stomp out the flame of humanity across the stars. The time of peaceful protests and negotiations are over. We have been kicked and beaten for too long. Its time we start the offensive. “
“When I came to some friends with this idea they asked things like who we will align with and things of that nature. I want everyone to know this one singular truth. Every human that exists is a target, from the lowly workers to the pretender on the Imperial throne. No one is exempt or even spared. The New Republic even has a horrible streak of being ‘Managed’ by humans. That will end. Any group, alliance, faction, tribe, or gathering of humans that are working together will be targeted. You collaborators out there should also fear us, this is your only warning. Any non-human found to be aiding the vermin in their constant circular cycle of famine will be executed as well. Your brothers and sisters beg you to come home to your family, for you will not be spared the sword when found with the enemy!”
“It is with that statement I officially mark the founding of the Sanctuary Prime. I ask all groups to reach out to us, especially those that are ready to turn over their vermin in exchange for their safety. We offer a safe haven for any non-human that needs protection from harm. The groups ran by our brothers and sisters, I applaud you and wish to welcome you to a new era of the universe. One in which we no longer must hide and sneak in the shadows. We will proudly stand toe to toe with this disease that has infested the cosmos and rip them root and stem from the depths of history. I have seen the future. It is bright, Diverse and looks like you and I; beautiful! Above all else, we look out for one another. This group, this alliance, this Family will endure until my last breath and I hope this sparks that fire in your soul as well.”
The Emblem of Sanctuary Prime.
“Before I depart, this isn’t our beginning but merely our path. This began when you were born, when you came into existence and instantly were thought less of by these egomaniacs. I suspect some will flock to our cause and then again some will not. Know this, there will be blood. For that I am sorry, but the path to glory is paved with the bricks our ancestors carried on their backs. Against their will. We will be victorious and if we are not then know they will never forget us.”
The Talz looks across the gathering of people once more.
“Brothers and Sisters, we are the future and not one Human will ever convince me that their inferior genetic stock could hold the mantle we so rightfully deserve.”
Grizzik looked over the crowd, people were starting to clap. ‘This is only the first step’ he thought to himself....
