While the Corellian Coup continues to cause hardships for mane near the core, out in Hutt Space, many sentients have gathered to the enjoyment and largely peaceful events of the semi-annual Uli-ah Gafsa Memorial Swap meet.

The largest recurring event in the galactic trading community continues to evolve and change, while still maintaining its reputation as a can't-miss event on the social calendars of many.

This years events seem to contain more exhibits of art and other collections from around the galaxy, but also the staples of the meet experience including:

- The largest collection of traders and merchandise from around the galaxy in one location
- The Death Hunt competition among the galaxy's elite marksmen
- Multiple racing competitions, including the Kreig's run, where currently the reigning king of racing, Jad Hep Viridux, is in danger of losing his first race in a long time!
- Gaming and Gambling tournaments
- Open houses and tours of famous (and infamous) ships
- and many more events, some planned, and some impromptu

Although safety at the meet is ensured by a host of neutral security forces and staff, there seems to be folks who put themselves in danger at the meet, or at meet-related events, and this time is no exception. There have been no less than three kidnapping events or attempts recorded so far, with the meet officially only one day old.

Gamorrean Spek Toekom captured Clementine Everett, forcing her to ransom off most of her possessions in exchange for her freedom. However, Spek had a change of heart, eventually returning Clementine some of her possessions and credits. Spek has reportedly decided to dedicate her life to learning and attempting to follow the ways of the Mandalorian culture, and has apprenticed herself to Nenya Plaure

Jawa bad boy Bik N'Tal has captured two sentients so far. He detained Katrina Gomez for a short time during the Krieg's run race, luring the likely sleep deprived racer onto his ship at one of the checkpoints with the lure of sustenance. However, at the request of the Knights of the Fountain, the traditional sponsor of the meet and the race, he released her. Later, Bik lured Dane Star onto his ship, by pretending to be returning some builders to the Bith. To our knowledge, Dane is still being held captive.

So, let this be a warning to all. The meet can be a safe adventure, and we hope everyone can come and join the festivities. However, do not ignore your normal personal security routines. Shili Free Press is here live at Swap Meet to report and breaking news as it unfolds, but in the interim, have fun, and stay safe out there!
