Earlier this month, a scouting unit of the Black Sun's Blades of the Forgotten Prince responded to a distress call from an asteroid mining operation in the Relgim Sector. It seems that the facility experienced a collision between two Y-8 Mining Vessels and a rogue asteroid that ultimately led to a reactor leak. The unit was able to draw on their prior engineering expertise assisting the citizens of Taspir as well as a small contingent of builders to seal the leak before it led to catastrophic failure and loss of the operation. Medical care was also provided to those workers who were injured in the initial accident.
"We are always happy to help where we can in the greater vicinity of Black Sun territory," stated Kingsley Zenri, second in command of the Blades of the Prince. "Even though this wasn't one of our facilities, we would never leave behind those in need."
After aiding the facility's return to normal operation, the Black Sun unit set to depart but noticed another signal when leaving the asteroid field. Fearing another accident, the scouts swept the sector until happening upon the source, the long lost Ord Biniir system. The signal's source appeared to be an ancient crash site with no apparent survivors. While no other inhabitants were found on the planet, scans did reveal indicators of several long-abandoned settlements. Fearing that the system could be used as a base of operations for pirates to harass the nearby mining interests, Black Sun established an outpost to take control over the newly rediscovered system. Samples were collected to be analyzed before sending scientific and archaeological teams to further investigate the planet.
Ord Biniir is a small, but vibrant world consisting of a single, grassland covered continent bisected by a large mountain range. The planet's modest ocean provides for a temperate climate. Black Sun scouts are reportedly eager to return to one of the many beaches.
