For our next installment, we write a tale of merriment and frivolity. A time and place when the elite of the galaxy had a chance to relax and enjoy life for a moment, setting aside the heavy burdens they often carry.

The Tale of the Prosperity Party

Galaxy Fest has been a gathering point for many remarkable and famous ships in the Galaxy. The sleek and speedy Solitaire and the powerful and mighty Super Star Destroyer Executor to name a pair. However, one of the more interesting ships is the Lucrehulk-class Battleship named Prosperity, owned by the Trade Federation Viceroy Jacob Jansen.

It was aboard the *Prosperity* that the Viceroy planned to host a small gathering in orbit over Bright Jewel; a meet and greet in person with the leaders of other governments and industry moguls that he often trades messages with as he leads the Federation. However, as the throngs of attendees to Galaxy Fest swelled, so did the invitation list to his soiree. With more VIPs being added coming from all sectors of the Galaxy, each with different schedules, routines and lifestyles, the planned meet and greet slowly shifted into an around the clock party.

Psychologists and anthropologists have often studied the phenomenon but never fully understood a common trend with parties such as this. There comes a time, when parties reach a critical mass, that they seem to become an organism of their own. It is a subtle shift, but suddenly the party itself ends up carrying the attendees along for a thrilling ride of pleasure, until it wears itself out. This party is not an exception.

The small gathering was slated for an executive office, but as the size of the party grew, the observatory deck of the Lucrehulk became the focal point of the event. The Viceroy's staff and the food service crew of the rolled out coolers of beverages for attendees to consume. A buffet style spread was laid out, and food service trays were wheeled about keeping the celebrants fed and happy. The mood remained light-hearted and festive, as the collective mood kept the worries of the galaxy from entering the luxurious Lucrehulk's limits.

Because of the nature of the party, some attendees that visited left to work or frolic on the surface and later returned. Others simply stayed and fell asleep in the ship, attended to by the staff on board, and awoke to resume their merrymaking. It was difficult to not enjoy your time on board, as even the supposedly non-alcoholic punchbowl was spiked. No less then 4 or 5 individuals confidentially confessed to Shili Free Press that they performed that feat. Because of the occasional over-indulgence, there were some minor mishaps, but not even one drunken reveler relieving himself into the Viceroy's personal safe could quell the congregation.

The heads of state and other dignitaries had security details of course. Even though there was minimal actionable threat to anyone, with all the inebriation, safety was still important. This created one minor altercation when the security team for the CEO of the Czerka Corporation accosted the CEO of the Corporate Sector Conglomerate. Gilbert Reed's bladder was about to burst when he into the lavatory where Ling Reen was already indisposed, causing Ling's security team to initially over-react to the onrushing intruder. Luckily, no permanent harm was done to Reed's already beleaguered body.

The list of notable attendees was too long to present here, but included the heads of state of at least 9 of the 23 major governments of the galaxy, the CEOs and leaders of many prominent manufacturing corporations and at least 2 former New Republic Chiefs of State. Because so many individuals who wield such power in the galaxy were located in one spot, one attendee procured a weight bench from the staff's quarters. A challenge rang out to all on board to see who really was the most powerful, an impromtu bench press competition. However, the challenge quickly faded into the sound of the revelry and we are unaware if the competition ever actually took place.
