BRIGHT JEWEL – The Galaxy Fest may be winding down, but sentients across the galaxy are expected to keep the current streak of merriment going by taking the celebration once again to the Nimban system for the tenth Uli-ah Gafsa Memorial Swap Meet from Day 296 to Day 305.
“The Knights of the Fountain decided to work with the Nimbanese to delay this upcoming Swap Meet by a galactic week,” said Brigadier General Lanavander Olesa. “Our rough estimates of the ships in orbit over Ord Mantell suggested that the main hyperspace lanes would be overcrowded with attendees flying from one event to the next. We wanted to avoid any lightspeed collisions due to the increased traffic, and the 7-day delay would spread out the expected number of ships along the Sisar Run over a longer period of time.”
This iteration of the Swap Meet will feature both the Uli Speed Trials and the Krieg’s Run. The Speed Trials shall be open for participants from Day 297 through Day 304, and the Krieg’s Run will start on the last day of the Swap Meet on Day 305. Hot-shot racers, would-be champions, and profit-seekers alike are encouraged to participate in both competitions, as 350 million credits in prizes are up for grabs.
“The Swap Meet would not be what it is today without the assistance of generous sponsors and this upcoming meet is no exception,” said Olesa. “These races are the cornerstone features of the Swap Meet, and the Knights of the Fountain could not entice the galaxy’s fastest to participate without the sponsors who put up the sizeable purses for which the racers compete.”
Black Sun has staked the prize money for both the Uli Speed Trials and Krieg’s Run. The government situated in the northern part of the galaxy is a Krieg’s Racing staple on both the sponsor and competitor front. Black Sun has offered the prize money for races in each of the past three Swap Meets, and racers from the Black Sun racing team have claimed a sizable share of those prizes through a combination of talent and experience.
“Black Sun has supported the Swap Meet and Krieg’s Run on many occasions and looks forward to continuing to ensure that these programs continue to be the overwhelming success they have always been,” said Prince Jeor Knight. “Our racers are some of the most decorated in Krieg’s Run history and we look forward to fielding a formidable team again for this iteration.”
Olesa added, “I would like to thank Prince Jeor Knight for their kind donation this year. The Knights appreciate the support that Black Sun has provided the Swap Meets in years past, and this is the latest example of a continued partnership that benefits the wider galaxy.”
Although following closely on the heels of the inaugural Galaxy Fest, Olesa wanted to stress that the galactic mainstay Swap Meet should be considered by all attendees as a completely separate event.
“Sentients are encouraged to spend their remaining tickets before departing Ord Mantell, as they will not be usable upon arrival in Nimban. In addition, Nimban customs officials have assured us that the only bawoons present at the Meet will be decorative ones, and not the harder variants found at Galaxy Fest Land that have posed some minor health risks.”
Olesa stiffened. “Finally, I would like to offer my sincerest apologies to a Mr. Lancer Torpoli for my conduct in the opening days of Galaxy Fest. I let my excitement at winning prizes overcome my decency, and I sincerely wish that I could give you your tickets back. If you can find it in your heart to forgive my inexcusable conduct, I would like to begin to make it up to you by buying you a plushie at the Swap Meet.”
