Posted by: Dex Sehrin, Confederacy of Independent Systems
Date: Year 24 Day 177 Onboard the Lucrehulk-class Battleship (CIS) Cyclopsis in system Tar Morden (-40, -200).

Year 24, Day 177, Tar Morden - Prepare to be captivated as the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS) orchestrates an extraordinary extravaganza to commemorate battle droids, those unyielding stalwarts that selflessly fought in the crucible of the Clone Wars. In a breath-taking grand parade, these metallic warriors, salvaged from battlefields across the galaxy, are being hailed for their unwavering courage and self-sacrifice.

Tar Morden, the pulsating heart of the Confederacy, has transformed into a playground of festivity, teeming with vibrant decorations and pulsating with euphoric cheers. This sensational celebration, stretching its jubilant embrace over several glorious days, is a momentous homage to the indomitable spirit of the Confederacy and the righteous cause it championed during the Clone Wars.

Citizens from all walks of life, united in their unwavering allegiance to the Confederacy, flock to Tar Morden to bear witness to this unparalleled spectacle. Their eyes sparkle with admiration, and their hearts swell with gratitude for the battle droids that once shielded their homeworlds from the ravages of war. Their cheers and applause are an emphatic chorus of appreciation for these resolute mechanical heroes, now parading with unparalleled grandeur and unwavering dignity.

Amidst this intoxicating sea of enthusiasm, CIS Shadowfeed correspondents were privileged to engage in conversations with citizens who ardently recognize the monumental contributions of these battle droids. Mrs. Talia Voss, a spirited and devoted patriot of the Confederacy, effused, "These noble battle droids epitomised the very essence of guardianship, selflessly braving the storm of conflict. Their unwavering commitment to our cause is an eternal flame that ignites our souls. Today, we salute their valour and etch their memory in the hallowed halls of history!"

Rannah Lecyllath commenting on the grand festivities taking place on Tar Morden.

The festivities reached a crescendo with the much-anticipated medal ceremony, an extraordinary event where the Confederacy's Magistrate of the North, Truse'vala'ilone, took the stage to honour the battle droids. Clad in regal attire, Truse'vala'ilone stood before a sea of battle droids, their metallic forms shimmering with pride. In a heartfelt speech, the Magistrate praised their heroism, highlighting their unwavering dedication and self-sacrifice.

"It is with immense pride and gratitude that we gather here today to honour our valiant battle droids," Truse'vala'ilone proclaimed, his voice resonating with admiration. "These fearless warriors, forged in the crucible of conflict, have exemplified unparalleled courage and selflessness. They have protected our worlds, safeguarded our citizens, and defended the principles we hold dear. Today, we bestow upon them the recognition they so richly deserve, so that this day will be known as Battle Droid Appreciation Day every year!"

The announcement of a new state holiday was met with raucous cheers of jubilation by the attending public. Then, one by one, the Magistrate stepped forward, adorning each battle droid with a resplendent medal of honour. The crowd erupted in thunderous applause, their cheers echoing throughout Tar Morden. Many reported that droplets of oil glistened around the droid's optical sensors as if they were tears of pride. Standing tall, the battle droids bore the weight of their newfound recognition and the profound significance of their sacrifice, their metallic countenances etched with the honour bestowed upon them.

This momentous ceremony also shed light on a pressing issue that had long plagued the battle droid community, namely the derogatory term "clanker." From its inception in the former Galactic Republic, this term had been used to belittle and demean these mechanical warriors. While some outside the Confederacy still cling to its usage, our citizens have always viewed it with disdain, and now more so than ever. Enlightened by the true valour of the battle droids, we, the people of the Confederacy, firmly shun and condemn the offensive term. We recognize it as a relic of the past, an insult that fails to acknowledge the profound heroism and sacrifice of these indomitable metallic warriors.

B1-R4.png B1-R4, a battle droid known for his unwavering spirit, addressed the crowd with a mix of enthusiasm and earnestness. "By the binary stars! The love and reverence showered upon us is nothing short of electrifying! Finally, we rise above our 'clanker' status to assume the mantle of true heroes. My processors are overclocking with pure joy!" His words were met with thunderous applause and a unified determination among the citizens to eradicate the derogatory term from the galaxy’s lexicon.
In another delightful encounter, BX-32, a battle droid renowned for his sharpshooting skills, regaled us with his dry wit, proclaiming, "Well, well, well... From the frontline trenches to the centre stage of this grand parade! My circuits are positively buzzing with excitement. Who would have thought my precision shooting would one day be accompanied by an applause track? I suppose my calculations finally paid off!" B2-R4.png

The Confederacy of Independent Systems stands tall, basking in the splendour of this momentous occasion. Its spirit, fortified by the indomitable resolve of these remarkable battle droids, remains unassailable. This unforgettable parade is a testament to the Confederacy's unwavering commitment to honour and exalt the heroes who fought for its noble cause.

As the grand parade stretches into the horizon, the Confederacy reverberates with the echoes of triumph. These battle droids, once dismissed as soulless machines, now ascend to the pinnacle of veneration and adoration. Their names and designations shall forever be engraved in the annals of history as testaments to courage and sacrifice.

Let the trumpets of celebration resound, for today, we pay homage to the unwavering valour of the battle droids. Their legacy shall serve as a guiding light, inspiring generations yet to come.

Hail to the Confederacy of Independent Systems! May the humour and resilience of these extraordinary battle droids echo through the ages.
