Thwarted Deception
Posted by: Rune Tao, Endeavor Corporation
Date: Year 5 Day 172 Onboard the YT-510 EC One in system Kothlis.
(The camera fades in on the stern face of Endeavor Corporation president Rune Tao. With little delay, he begins to speak.)

Hello everyone and thank you for allowing me to speak to you this evening. I have a small concern that I'd like to make public in hopes of an equally public explanation.

A discrepency has occurred, one that I find quite perplexing. If you'll all take a minute, I'd like to play a bit of an interview you saw on this very station a few weeks ago.

(Camera cuts to Matrel Byden, member of the Galactic Empire, in mid-speech.)

Look around you; distrust, pirates, thieves - diseases within us that have grown to run rampant. This will be coming to an end.

The Empire will no longer stand for the open season that has been declared on Imperials throughout the open market. Thievery will no longer go on without resistance, for now it is open season on thieves.

(The camera cuts back to the face of Rune Tao, hands folded in front of him.)

With those words in mind, you can imagine my surprise when one of the esteemed employees of Endeavor Corporation came to me with the news that a prominent member of the Galactic Empire had made a quite distressing proposal.

It seems that this individual was approached by Mr. Hovstad Stockmann, prominent member of the Galactic Empire, to construct an under the table deal whereby my employee would sell Mr. Stockmann scans at a reduced rate in exchange for receiving money directly. In the terms of the deal, Endeavor Corporation was to never know of the operation and would not receive any money. I believe the exact phrasing was "he would never know" in reference to myself.

You can imagine my surprise that only days after a public message condemning theft, one of the Empire's own was not only attempting to steal from Endeavor Corporation, but to enroll one of my own employees in his scheme.

I look forward to a public response to this incident by the Galactic Empire. While I am disappointed at the actions of Mr. Stockmann, I am equally proud of my own employee, Mr. Dradd Madaroo, for having the decency and fortitude that it seems Mr. Stockmann lacks.

Thank you and goodnight.

(Camera fades to oh....hunter green.)
