Polar here

We are getting close to the start of Winter event, here are some more details about it. When you will want to travel to Grand Central Station (which is above Winter Comet), you will have to agree to some rules that Assistant Conductor will read to you (similar to Galaxy Fest). Please read them carefully. On the Station you will be greeted with Station Agent who will provide you with a lot of information about the event, that there are four places of interest on the comet, city of Otoh Tipoca, Winter City, a Cave of Exchange and an Airfield. He will tell you more about them, but here is short summary. Otoh Tipoca is a city on water, be careful, don't get wet (no, you won't need swimming gear, it's not very deep). It's inhabited mostly by Gungans and Kaminoans. Here is the map of the city:

Winter City is a place where most events happen. You can find there many people who may need your help, or just look for some company for winter activities. You may see some familiar faces here!

A Cave of Exchange located at (1,0) is a place where you can leave any items for others and exchange custom items. Feel free to do it anywhere in that city. Doing it in other places than Cave of Exchange can result in punishment and penalties.

Airfield is a place where you can see many rare ships. It's a great place if you want to take some rest, take a walk between those unique machines, or maybe even take a picture with them.

To get to the surface, enter Transport Sleigh located on the station and pick a destination! We suggest starting from Otoh Tipoca or Winter City. There are no quests in Cave of Exchange and Airfield.

When it comes to rewards, learning from Gal Fest experience, we decided to limit the number of already produced assets available for purchase. You will be able to exchange Frost Candy (event currency) for ship/vehicle/droid datacards and creature eggs instead. Some small items will be available for purchase by credits, like custom drinks, backpacks, bait. Example of one of the vendors:

There were few good questions about the event, which got answered on FAQ channel in our discord server, but I will post them here too for people who don't use Discord.

Q: Can I spawn/share custom items with people during the event?
A: Yes, once you are on the surface, there will be a special place (Cave of Exchange) where you can spawn and leave custom items on the ground. We would like to ask you to not spawn items outside of that area to avoid performance issues and clutter in the cities. Items left sitting without purpose outside the designated area, will be purged and no refunds will be given. Breaking those rules may result in a ban from the event. Also remember to not steal items from others.

Q: If at one point I will leave the event, can I come back?
A: Yes, but remember you have to be unequipped to come back. So if you picked up any items during the event and went back home with them, you will have to drop them and come back unequipped. You can leave and come back anytime you want.

Q: If we go to the upcoming Winter event via Starport or Trading station do we have to return to the same Starport or can we go to other ones also accessible when we're done?
A: You won't be able to pick a destination, it will teleport you back to where you came from.

Q: How do I carry stuff during the event if I have no pockets?
A: Once you arrive to the comet station, you will be able to buy a backpack and a gravity sled. Those 2 things should be enough to carry everything you will find/receive on the surface of the comet. Remember that if during the event you will teleport back to your station/starport with them equipped, you will have to leave them behind before coming back. Once you are back in the comet station, you can buy a new backpack and/or sled.

Q: Does unequipped mean I have to uninstall a cyborg implant?
A: No. That sounds painful and expensive.

Q: Can I fly to the event in my ship?
A: No.

Q: What happens if I disobey the rules?
A: You will be placed on the naughty list, which serves as an OOC warning with an amusing IC element. If you continue to practice naughty behavior, especially if it is disruptive, harassing, or otherwise breaks the rules to which you agree when you enter the event, you will be banned from the event. You can continue playing every other part of SWC, but you will not be allowed back into the Winter Event.

The starting hour of the event - 12:00 Combine time, day 22. We also created a forum thread for Winter event posts, you can find it here.

This is all for today. Stay safe, wear a hat. See you next time. Polar out.

EDIT: Updated map for Winter City and Otoh Tipoca with one more quest. Added Starting hour.
