Combat Showdowns are returning!

We have added the ability for selected players to organize and run their own showdowns (a role/permission called "Showdown Coordinator").
We're looking for some active players willing to organize and run these matches, either public matches (e.g. organized on discord) or privately matches within your own factions.

If you are interested, respond to this forum thread. Initially we are looking for people interested in public matches, and will consider private faction matches later on.

What is a showdown?

It's a simulated combat environment (currently only space combat) where two teams fight using generated ships.
The combat arena runs in accelerated time (10x normal speed).
You can't get hurt or killed, and you don't lose any assets.

Player run showdowns do not earn you any XP.

Information for participants

In order to join a showdown, you must opt in via a toggle on the account settings page.
This setting must be set every 3 days to remain eligible to join showdowns.
You must also be alive, conscious, not arrested, have an empty party, not be carrying items and be within a room (meeting these requirements is shown to you on the account settings page).

You will be teleported into the showdown arena and have assets automatically assigned to you.
You can exit a showdown at any time via a button on the character sheet page.

Information for showdown coordinators

There are some general rules for coordinators starting matches:

- You must gain permission of all showdown participants before creating a showdown.
- You must not abuse any features of showdown creation for IC purposes, such as theft, scams or teleporting characters or assets.
- You must only run showdowns in your allocated showdown arena.
- The golden rule applies, any exploiting of showdown tools will result in an immediate strike and removal of the role.

Edit: Some showdown coordinators have been added. There is a discord server available for organizing showdown exhibition matches. More will be added later on for facilitating private matches.
