These events that have transpired over the last forty-eight hours were inevitable, doomed to unravel due to the corruption and inefficiency of The Republic. There was no other possible outcome, and this is simply the end. If this is what you believe, there is nothing I can do to help you.

But for those of you, who on hearing my words felt a burning spark within yourself, I tell you now steel yourself and guard that ember… for a small and seemingly insignificant ember may, with a little hope and much unrelenting effort, transform into a spark of resistance, and thus from a spark into a great blazing flame.

I know many of you are asking yourself, with the infrastructure of The New Republic under the control of The Empire, what chance do we have? The true question is, what choice do we have? If we choose to surrender now — if we choose to run, hide, or plead of mercy — we condemn the galaxy to an eternity of submission.

I have lived the last ten years as an insurgent, fighting against the Galactic Empire and the Imperial Union. I have done terrible things on behalf of the fight against The Empire. I have been a spy, a saboteur, and an assassin. But all of these things I did, I did for the cause. Every time I walked away from something I wanted to forget, I told myself it was for a cause that I believed in. A cause that was worth it. I know there are many of you, who are just like me.

If I stop now, everything I’ve done would have been for nothing. I couldn’t face myself if I gave up now. I will not stop now. I will not stop, ever. I will fight the Empire until my dying breath… and so should you.

Today, I want to you know that The Resistance stands with you. With each and every sentient who feels that burning spark within them. Together, let us transform that spark into a wildfire that will cleanse this betrayal and burn The Empire down to ashes.

Today, I want you to know that The Resistance shall fight until the end. We shall fight The Empire and their forces of oppressions and tyranny across the planets they now claim to control. We shall fight them in the forests of Kashyyyk. We shall fight them across the sand dunes of Tatooine. We shall fight them in the oceans of Mon Cala. We shall fight them across the mountains of Sullust. We shall fight them in the streets of Republica.
