Binders are the preferred method of restraining captives for most bounty hunters chasing down the scum of the galaxy or military patrols rounding up defeated enemies. These lightweight items offer a portable and easily concealed means of subduing a wide variety of sentients by severely limiting the range of motion of their limbs.

Designed to be rugged and secure, but also cheap and disposable, binders are designed to be used only once. In order to remove binders from a prisoner, the restraint itself is broken, causing the binder to become unusable. Although they are resistant to damage by a struggling captive, stun cuffs are preferred over binders if the subject is extremely aggressive or if they are to be used for an extended period.

Despite these flaws, binders aide anyone intending to force another sentient being into imprisonment for ransom, arrest and/or execution once a warrant is issued.
