Kwazel Candy (Trophy)
Table of Contents [hide]
An aquatic plant originally endemic to Rodia, Kwazel Candy grows in fresh water as a long brown vine, dotted with bioluminescent green bulbs. The vines grow in dense forests and can reach lengths of over one hundred metres from the bottom of whatever body of water they are growing in. While lacking appreciable leaves, the brown vines are still able to carry out photosynthesis using a pigment that is an analogue to chlorophyll, which is found in a number of similar water-dwelling plants. The bioluminescent bulbs house the plant’s reproductive organs and fertilization actually occurs inside the gut of a number of aquatic herbivorous species. The bulbs of different vines dissolve in the guts of the herbivore and release the plants’ gametes which fertilise each other and form fertile seeds, which are excreted along with the herbivore’s droppings. The Kwazel Candy vines grow swiftly and are capable of forming their own bioluminescent bulbs within six months.
