Giving its name to the surrounding system, Karideph is a rocky ball that has small oceans. The planet is home to a sentient insectoid species known as the Kari. The Kari roam Karideph's surface, constantly devouring any and all plant life that grows in their path and have almost consumed all of its once-lush flora. Attempts to eradicate the Kari have failed spectacularly since the creatures use the caves that dot the surface to hide. Even when penetrated, these caves seem to go on forever, and many have speculated that all the caves across Karideph are linked, either by some purpose or by accident. While they could be used to a strategic advantage when defending the planet, the majority of the caves have yet to be explored, let alone utilized.

Another unique point for Karideph is the northernmost mountain, named Karidogh. It is the highest peak in the Minos Cluster and attracts many adventurers looking for a test of their skill and prowess. There has yet to be a successful attempt at the peak unaided by any advanced equipment such as vehicles, or advanced climbing gear.

The oceans on the planet attract many tourists in the sector who are looking for a way to gallivant around for a few days and it is a known locale for romantic vacations. In fact, the oceans are the main source of income for the residents, with the large rocky continent leaving much to be desired in that regard.
