Only being settled in recent decades, little of the Meris V A's history has been uncovered. One of the most apparent historical events, however, is a fairly significant impact that the moon sustained from another stellar object; whatever the cause, the result was an immense crater in the moon's center.
Apart from the crater, another point of interest is the presence of carbon-rich glacial formations on the moon's surface. Several speculative ideas as to what caused these abnormalities have been offered by the few researchers and engineers who traveled to Meris V A's surface to do preliminary studies to determine the moon's suitability as a location for settlements. Whether or not any further research will be conducted to gather more information, however, remains to be seen.
