One of two moons within the Sullust system, Sulon is considered an important part of planet Sullust. Many of the minerals used to help with the construction of the underground cities of Sullust have come from mining the small moon. Additionally, rock excavated from the many caverns and tunnels of Sullust is oftentimes placed on the moon's surface.

Because of the lack of water on Sullust, the moon's gravity has little effect on the planet itself.  Navigation around the moon for hyperspace jumps does give many Sullustans practice for future navigational duties. Because the moon is quickly becoming more of a rock pile from excavations, much debris floats free of the moon, creating small fields used by the more adventurous pilots as a training ground with fighters.

There are a few rumors claiming that the moon is actually a base for an illegal pirate organization formed shortly after the fall of the Old Republic. Non-Sullustan craft have supposedly been seen flying in and out of the area by government forces. While military forces do not regularly patrol this sector, it is doubtful the Sullustans would be foolish enough to allow such an organization so close to their homeworld.
