Despite the rather dangerous atmosphere, the entire planet is entirely covered with rock giving it high mining potential. If a corporation was willing to fund a few domed mining complexes, then it would stand to profit a great deal from the endeavor. The only real opposition to the idea is the closeness of Clak’Dor II to the nearby sun. Approaching ships must take a very specific path keeping the planet between it and the star, or risk have it’s hull stripped off from the radiation. Any ships that survives the approach to the planet, not a difficult task, must then be prepared to deal with an extraordinary drop in temperature shortly after entering the atmosphere of the planet.
Because of the lack of heating and toxic atmosphere, there is no planet or animal life on the planet. Considered a dead planet by most, Clak’Dor II is rarely discussed about outside of industrial circles and very little information is available.
