A medium sized planet located a good distance away from the Chalcedon star, Clak’Dor IV boasts a mild climate that most species find quite pleasurable. Plant life abounds on the planet in the form of forests, jungles and grassland. A decent source of water runs through the surface of the planet breaking up the greenery. As with most planets, ice caps can be found near the northern and southern poles.
Clak’Dor IV was one of the first planets colonized by the Bith. As a result a good portion of the species moved there shortly after the detrimental war on their original homeworld, Clak’Dor VII. Although not as beautiful as their original homeworld, Clak’Dor IV was considered heaven compared to the war-torn surface of the Bith’s original planet. The colony on Clak’Dor IV grew quickly as more and more refugee’s arrived to the planet.
Sadly the heaven of Clak’Dor IV did not last long. Unknown to the survivors of the war, the biological effects of some of the weapons used lasted longer than expected. Of the nearly 300 settlements that were created in the year or so after the ‘Evacuation’, nearly 270 were decimated by a rapid disease. The remaining settlements quickly quarantined themselves until all sign of the outbreak was gone. The outbreak caused the Bith to become somewhat superstitious of the entire Colu system and many have since left believing it is the only way to save their species from extinction.
Clak’Dor IV is still considered a major Bith colony and any species is welcome to settle on the planet. In order to avoid any additional incidents with diseases, all ships from Clak’Dor VII are scanned vigorously and subject to medical quarantine if the smallest anomaly is discovered.
