Description:
One of the most delicate looking planets within the entire H'nemthe system, Gongolfin is the typical gas giant.  It and Kicalaphin are the two largest planets of the system.  Formed from the left over gases of the systems creation, Gongolfin has no interesting piece of history.  Sitting near the middle of the system, the planet has little effect on hyperspace travel and all the gases on the planet are actually useless to most corporation.  The occasional rumor abounds that the Katana fleet was once sighted near the planet, but there is no substance to such a claim.

There is an extremely large concentration of gases on one side of the planet that is position near the northen pole of the planet.  The concentrations are so thick that the entire northern pole has a bluish tint to it.  Called the Gongolfin Sea, the occasional rumor of it's creation finds its way back to the inner systems and causes the usual laughs.  One of the more imaginative rumors is that the Old Republic had tested a gravity weapon and the result was most of the planet's gases being pulled to that central location.  If this rumor were true, then the weapon is still there as the gases have not dissipated back out around the planet.  Most historical analysts will say that the very idea that the Republic would even test such a weapon is ridiculous.  Yet the mundane knowledge about Gongolfin allows such theories to exist because it is hard to believe a planet to be so bland and boring.
