Planet: H`nemthe VI
Table of Contents [hide]

With two other gas planets in the system, H`nemthe VI is something of a redundancy. Smaller than it's two companions, H`nemthe I and V, it is also the coldest. The second-farthest planet from the local star, H`nemthe VI's gases move so slowly that some surveyors have been tempted to describe the dwarf as dead. It is believed that at its farthest point from the sun, the gases in the lower level of H`nemthe VI actually freeze, forming a temporary solid landmass. Even if this rumor was true, it actually has no effect on the use of the planet as any ship that would attempt to reach the mythical landmass would most likely be crushed under the atmospheric pressure of so much gas above it.

While H`nemthe VI is rumored to be mostly nitrogen, an extremely large amount of Tibanna gas has been detected by several survey ships and more than one corporation has set up mining facilities to gather the resource. Most were so successful that they believed the entire planet had been mined to its fullest potential. Oddly enough, it barely takes a generation before another survey ship returns and says the source of Tibanna gas has been replenished, and more mining operations are sent to resume making profits. This seemingly renewable source of Tibanna gas causes a few corporations to wonder just what, if anything, could be living within the deep recesses of the planet. Most mining directors don't care and are just happy that the Tibanna gas frequently returns to place additional credits in their pockets.
