This planet is located at (0,2) in the Altarrn system, and is one of the three temperate planets that comprise this system. This planet is currently uninhabited, but the Empire maintains an emergency landing area for ships. This fully stocked facility can also house 4 squadrons of fighters in an emergency situation.

Like the other two planets of this system, Altarrn is overflowing with life. It has all of the normal climactic conditions that are found on temperate and breathable atmosphere planets. These varying climactic regions lead to many different species of flora and fauna. The Belerrn found here tend to be smaller and faster than the ones found on the other planets. This leads to their main use as sport and private animals, and also the potential for military scouting in rough terrain areas.

This planet probably has the least amount of mineral resources out of all the planets in this system. Scans and surveys by the Empire have indicated roughly twenty-five percent less mineral deposits. Why this is, no one is quite sure, but the much lower gravity and planet density probably have something to do with it.

Historically, this planet has been overlooked in favor of the other two planets of this system. Altarrn was the second planet discovered in this system, but it was quickly bypassed in favor of Artheduinor. The one thing that the Republic has done here is to build a small emergency landing pad and support building. This facility is totally unmanned, but there are heavy, automated internal and external defenses to deal with any intruders. In case of an emergency, the facility can be manned and can support up to four squadrons of Y-Wings, along with all their fuel and ammo needs. The Empire has planned to expand this facility for two more squadrons, along with building another on the other side of the planet, but the galactic civil war has put a hold on this project by whittling away vital funds and personnel.

Why the Empire maintains this facility and not the one on Belebathorn is unknown, but some thing the local Moff has made deals with the smugglers to overlook their use of that facility while he takes a cut of their profits.
