Native to the planet Lasan, the Lasat are a species of tall, bipedal humanoids that average over two metres in height. They are faster and stronger than many species, with digitigrade legs that provide them with significant speed, as well as strong, padded fingers that help them to climb the numerous cliffs and fissures in Lasan’s southern hemisphere. Lasat have large yellow or green eyes with no iris, and long, pointed ears which give them excellent eyesight and hearing, the better to be hunt the deserts, plains and mountains of their world. Lasat place significant importance on their hair – while male Lasat are generally bald on the top of their heads, their hair grows luxuriantly on the sides of their heads as well as on their chins, while females boast thick heads of hair that they braid and tie up in a myriad of fashions. Lasat also produce a natural musky oil that helps keep their short fur in good condition, although the strong smell is considered offensive by some sentient species. A Lasat’s fur patterns may vary as they age and so cannot be used to reliably distinguish individuals.

Lasat are a fierce people, as might be expected from dwellers on their harsh world, where competition for resources can determine life and death for entire villages. Warrior attributes are prized and the finest warriors will be invited to join the Lasan High Honour Guard. Warrior Lasat practice a code of conduct called Boosahn Keeraw, which emphasizes physical prowess as well as personal honour. The Lasat believe in the Ashla, a personification of the Force, and numerous temples to the Ashla dot the landscape of Lasan. Lasats are experts at finding water in hostile environments such as deserts and surviving on Lasan would be difficult for most sentient species without a Lasat guide.
