Discovered around the same time as the neighboring planet of Koiogra V, Koiogra III is a slightly more violent planet. The entire northern quadrant of the planet is considered uninhabitable as volcanoes and glaciers cover the majority of that region. The rest of the planet is actually considered quite lovely. Grasslands compose a significant portion and oceans cover nearly 60% of the planet's surface. The collection of forests are considered the greatest resource that the planet has, especially considering the many plants and animals available for food.

Because of the increased dangers of the northern region, Koiogra III was not as well colonized as Koiogra VII.  Still, the colonists share much with their relatives on Koiogra VII, having great intellectual skills and a preference for peace. The presence of water on Koiogra III's surface means that fishing is a major industry for most of the colonists. Several shipments of fish are sent out each month to produce a rather hefty revenue for the inhabitants. It is not uncommon to see Koiogra III inhabitants wearing the latest fashions from faraway planets.

The inhabitants of Koiogra III have encouraged the occasional corporation to come and develop some of the planet's land, the many volcanic regions of Koiogra III are often tempting prospects to companies investigating new ways to harness geothermal energies. While this creates a rather nice influx of ships each day, it is rare to hear of anyone leaving the planet. With the exception of the foolhardy stargazer, most of the inhabitants have all they will ever need.
