Along with Tralus, Talus is a member of the Corellian Twins. The Corellian Twins circle around each other in a complicated orbital pattern, though taken as a whole the Corellian Twins orbit the Corellian Sun in an orbit that is no different than a normal planet. Talus lays a bit further away from the sun, causing it to have a somewhat prolonged winter, though the extremely dense and heated planet core warms the land and provides pleasant summers. A large bulk of the surface land area belongs to the large north pole continent, where the large glaciers had been sealing off the true visage of the ground underneath since before the beginning of recorded history on this planet.\r\n

\r\nThe population of Talus consists of roughly 70% humans, 20% other Corellian species, and 10% are species that are not native to this system. Most civilized activities and cities are limited to the grasslands on the continent of Ta in the western hemisphere, where the abundance of wild game provides an ample food source for the early settlers. The eastern hemisphere contains the continent of Ur, which is mostly uninhabitable and has not been explored in recent years due to its relative uselessness. \r\n

\r\nTalus is the seat of government of the Federation of the Corellian Twins, a government body ruling over Talus and Tralus. There have been several attempts by members of this government to break their tributary state status to the government that ruled the entire Corellian system, the Corellian Alliance, however none has succeeded. The Federation, however, is favorable to the Galactic Empire, the current rulers of the Corellian System. With the extensive Imperial aids, Talus is able to provide strong economic backing to its recent efforts to raise the standards of living in rural areas. As a result, Talus has been inviting the Corellian Sector Moff as the guest grand marshall for the annual sporting events. This invitation has not been turned down by any Corellian Sector Moff in the seventeen years of its history.\r\n

\r\nAs Talus and Tralus orbit each other, the distance between these two planets is getting closer by centimeters yearly. Astronomers predict that in roughly twenty million years the two planets will be so close to each other that the tidal effects will destroy much of the surface on both planets.
