Though not the most powerful weapon, the MG-15 has managed to find favour with military forces that use squad-based tactics. Because of its high rate of fire and its better-than-average accuracy at medium ranges, it is often used to lay down cover fire while other members of the squad proceed with their various combat tasks.

While the MG-15 is most effective at medium ranges, it has proven inaccurate and inefficient for long-range use. Due to its lack of stopping power, even if one manages to hit an enemy from a great distance, a single shot is unlikely to kill. Additionally, in field-tests, the long barrel was shown to make the weapon extremely difficult to use in close-quarters combat.
