Formed from the ashes of a dying empire, The Kingdom of Elysia represents a new hope for the Atei quadrant - consisting of the Yushan, Gendius, Sombure and Cerean sectors. In the final days of the Avance Coalition, when the rule of law was ignored and the House’s veto spurned, the founding noble house - House Vigihan – seceded from the Coalition and set out to forge its own destiny rather than be forcibly merged into the hierarchy of a foreign government. The Patriarch of the family, High Lord Arklari Clise, was proclaimed King of the new Kingdom of Elysia. The confederate corporations – Czerka Corporation and Golan Technologies – soon opted to transfer to the new government as well, beginning a new dawn for the peoples of Elysia. Boasting control of over sixty planetary bodies and now having been recognized as a legitimate government in its own right, the Kingdom has set its sights on its greater ambitions.
Honor. Duty. Fraternity. These are the virtues which define the daily life of Elysia, whose citizens toil indefatigably on towards a better, brighter tomorrow: because none of us is as strong as all of us. Those who put in the effort towards the future are rewarded spectacularly. Citizenship in the kingdom is generally open to those who serve its interests, although “collectors” of such citizenship are consistently rebuffed.
Among the various worlds of the Kingdom are the homeworlds of the Cereans and Advozse, two worlds of many that have sworn fealty to the Kingdom and have already began to feel the effects that increased production and development effort has had on the local economies. These native species enjoy automatic full rights as Elysian citizens so long as they have no other citizenship, and their natural infrastructure are historical and protected properties.
One of the few monarchies of the galaxy, full executive and legislative power lays with the Sovereign, whose Lord Chancellor acts upon his wishes on his behalf. Along with the King and the Chancellor the remaining sections of the kingdoms leadership are held by the Council of Lords, with a Lord or Lady overseeing the most important parts of the Kingdom in order to ensure the safety and prosperity of all its citizens. Although the Kingdom does not possess a parliament, executive decisions are occasionally submitted to the Council to provide its official recommendation.
