The Children of the Watch are a group of Mandalorian purists who strictly follow The Way of the Mandalore. The Way of the Mandalore is an ancient Mandalorian religion that was abandoned by mainstream Mandalorian society sometime after the Mandalorian Wars.
The Way of the Mandalore has six primary tenets; ba’jur, beskar’gam, ara’nov, aliit, mando’a and mand’alor. While it resembles the code used by a few other Mandalorian sects, it differs in several key ways. One of the biggest differences is that followers of The Way are prohibited from removing their helmets while in the presence of another sentient. Doing so means that they may never wear it again. Those that follow The Way of the Mandalore are also required to display the kar'ta beskar or "iron heart" on their armour.
The origins of The Children of the Watch are shrouded in mystery. Some people believe they rose from the ashes of the former Death Watch. Others believe that they have been around since before the Mandalorian Wars. Regardless of their origins, their goals remain clear; The Children of the Watch seek to grow their influence in mainstream Mandalorian society, and they also seek to return Mandalorians to their pre-war glory.
The Children of the Watch do not recognize those who refuse to follow The Way of the Mandalore as true Mandalorians. As such, they do not recognize any claim to Mand’alor at this time.
