Description:
The New Republic (often abbreviated as NR) is a sovereign galactic government and the foremost institutional defender of democracy, liberty, and representative rule in the galaxy. Born from the ashes of tyranny, it traces its origins to the Rebel Alliance, the resistance movement that waged a prolonged struggle against the evil Galactic Empire in pursuit of the restoration of the Republic.
In Year 8, amid both necessity and controversy, the Alliance formally merged with the SoroSuub Corporation, reorganizing its political, economic, and administrative structures and proclaiming itself the New Republic. From that moment onward, the New Republic sought not merely to oppose the Empire, but to govern—to recreate the ideals of the Old Republic within territories beyond Imperial control. Its capital, Republica, rose as a vast ecumenopolis comparable to Coruscant itself, standing as a symbol of renewal, governance, and civilian life flourishing free from Imperial dominion.
The New Republic distinguished itself as the only galactic government to maintain regular, elections for its head of state, alongside a fully elected legislature. It also stands as one of the founding members of the Galactic Alliance, reinforcing its commitment to interstellar cooperation and shared security. Its current head of state is the sixteenth Chief of State, Jonas Kanuteau, who presides over the restored institutions of the Republic.
Despite its achievements, the Republic’s history has not been without tragedy. Shortly after a previous election cycle, the New Republic was betrayed by its own Chief of State, Galen Darksol, who unlawfully surrendered control of Republic worlds to the Galactic Empire. This act plunged the Republic into collapse and occupation—but not into oblivion. Through years of resistance, sacrifice, and renewed struggle, the forces of liberty prevailed once more.
Now restored, the New Republic again stands as a beacon of hope once more.
For many years of turmoil and hardship, the Rebel Alliance—now fully reconstituted as the New Republic—has fought to reclaim peace and freedom for all peoples of the galaxy. With a dedicated, elite military and a rapidly expanding civil sector, the New Republic offers unparalleled opportunities for service, contribution, and purpose.
The New Republic Armed Forces (NRAF) field some of the most renowned vessels in galactic history. Have you ever dreamed of piloting an X-wing, or commanding the bridge of a Mon Calamari cruiser? By joining the Republic military, you can fight directly for freedom—and make that dream a reality.
Those who wish to serve beyond the battlefield will find equal purpose in the civil sector. From manufacturing A-wings and B-wings, to logistics, construction, infrastructure, research, or resource extraction, the Republic’s nationalized factions offer countless ways to contribute to the rebuilding and protection of galactic society. The possibilities are vast, and every role matters.
To become a citizen and member of the New Republic, applicants must apply through the Darkness Interface and await further instructions. The New Republic Intelligence (NRI) conducts background checks on all incoming applicants; however, the process is designed to be efficient and accessible. New members are advised not to select a starting assignment until official placement has been issued.
The Republic has returned.
And with it, the chance to help shape the future of the galaxy.
