The SE-2 Worker Droid was the result of Cybot Galactica's market research team as they explored a specialized line of products intended for use in flat, open terrain. Not all commercial experiments yield positive results, and sales of the SE-2 were not robust enough to justify continued production. However, as a fifth-degree labor droid, the SE-2 does perform admirably and many continue to operate in a wide variety of industries, particularly on farms.
Clad in a visible white finish, the SE units were engineered to handle manual tasks that did not require advanced logic, such as unloading freight, collecting harvests, or performing routine maintenance on machinery. A humanoid frame standing 1.78 meters tall, the SE-2 Worker Droid is distinguished by its large monocular photoreceptor that features a dual-imaging plane, allowing the droid to closely examine distant objects while also tracking items nearby. An enclosed casing and specially engineered articulation protect the droid from wind-blown particles, with interface couplings covered by grey panels.
