Building upon the success of the fashionable model 88, Ubrikkian Repulsorlift Manufacturing updated its aesthetic style to introduce the PL-90 Luxury Speeder to the Galactic Republic's elite. The new PL-90 featured a smoother silhouette with rounded contours that appealed to the current trends in high society at the time. In terms of performance, there was little to justify the enormous price. The PL series boasted only mundane airspeeds and limited maneuverability.

However, it was the decadent use of rare and elegant materials that gave the PL-90 its allure, with visible components being plated in precious metals like chromium and gold. The elaborate use of inertial dampers ensured that even the most abrupt steering could not result in a spilled beverage. Two single pilot seats occupy the front of the open cab, protected by the gracefully sloping windshield. Behind them, three rows of Corellian leather seats accommodate the entourage in sublime comfort. The bucket seats can also be adjusted to suit larger races.
