The TaggeCo Air-2 racing swoop is a design originating during the Clone Wars, to take advantage of the burgeoning swoop racing sport, which was coming in to replace the outlawed pod-racing circuit. At the time of its introduction, the Air-2 possessed significant speed, although only about half that of many podracers. Newer swoop bikes have exceeded this though, meaning that currently, the standard production Air-2 is on the slower side for the swoop racing circuit.

Design-wise, the Air-2 is somewhat chunkier and less aerodynamic than its contemporaries. Its control interfaces are also more complex, relying on foot and knee controls, as well as the handlebar-mounted throttle and brake. These require an experienced rider to effectively exploit and is a reason why the Air-2 is not as popular as some newer models, especially in flat, open-terrain races. Where the Air-2 excels is in city races, where it can make use of its outstanding maneuverability and powerful repulsorlift engine to compensate for its slower top speed.

Air-2s manufactured for sale in Outer Rim territories also come standard with a light blaster built-in, to help the rider and passenger deal with any pesky critters or bandits they might encounter. This new avenue of sales has seen the swoop's popularity increase significantly in recent times.
