Listed as illegal on several worlds, the Mammoth Split-X was another entry by Collor Pondrat into the Pod-Racer market. Unsurprisingly, the racers most prominent feature is the huge set of twin, Plug-F engines arranged in a split-X configuration at the front of the craft. These engines, which use a ram air intake system through the front radiators to ensure effective operation of the turbines, give this racer its superb thrust, especially on flat terrains. Fueled by tradium power fluid pressurized with quold runium, the engines are activated with ionized injectrine. Due to this unique two-way fuel charging system, the pod had a loud, high-pitched engine rumble making it easily recognizable during a race, even over a large distance. The enormous engines sport enough cavities, hollows and niches for a small arsenal of hidden weapons. Numerous seedy racers have taken advantage of this by installing flamethrowers, hooks and other illegal items so as to deter the competition. These illegal surprises together with the outlawed fuel system hoisted in the engines are largely the reason why the Mammoth is often disqualified from respectable race meetings.
