The Loth-cat is a breed of tooka commonly found throughout the galaxy. Small carnivorous mammals, Loth-cats are distinguished from other tookas by having evolved to hunt rodents in tall grass. This has resulted in slender legs and a distinctive speckled pattern of yellow and brown stripes in their fur. In many cultures, encountering a white Loth-cat is an omen of good fortune.
The head of the Loth-cat is roughly the size and shape of a training remote and is crowned with large, pointed ears that lay back when the cat is angry. A pair of slit nostrils are situated between small, wide-set eyes that dilate for heightened awareness when under stress. Their broad mouths are quite expressive, spanning the entire face and filled with numerous teeth which include a set of sharp fangs. Four legs provide the Loth-cat with superior mobility and their birdlike feet include talons that enable them to grip their prey and also make them impressive climbers. A long, bushy tail helps them maintain balance during tricky maneuvers. With patience, these felines can be domesticated. Sometimes kept for the simple companionship of a familiar, the Loth-cat is also a methodical pest exterminator and is quite popular with starship captains and moisture farmers alike.
