The Platoon Attack Craft is an unarmed, unarmoured repulsorlift vehicle originally built by the Trade Federation to transport B1 battle droids. Over a hundred of these can be transported on the special rack in the cargo area of this vehicle. The vehicle itself is unremarkable, consisting of a low, open, oval shaped platform, with an open driver's compartment at the front where the crew of 2 pilot droids is located. The crew compartment, like the rest of the vehicle is completely open to the elements and vulnerable to any sort of hostile fire.

Without any armour, the vehicle and its cargo are particularly vulnerable to artillery fire, although in truth even heavy blaster fire has the possibility of wrecking the vehicle and destroying its cargo. The Platoon Attack Craft is derived from the Multi-Troop Transport, which is a much more capable vehicle. Intelligent commanders will keep the Platoon Attack Craft well behind the front lines, or in the centre of an armoured vehicle square to provide a modicum of protection.
