R-Duba is barely classified as a temperate planet. This is due to having almost no water vapor in the atmosphere. However, the native plants and animals have adapted to the planet's typically cool temperatures - though well below freezing at night, it becomes very hot during the day.
Additionally, the jungle and forest areas make this planet seem less harsh than it really is. Though the plants and trees collect water from the ground, it is often difficult to find an inland source of freshwater. Thirst, freezing to death, and baking in the desert are all a constant concern on this brutal planet.
R-Duba is one of two planets within the heliosphere of the R-Duba sun. The other planet is R-Duba I and their two orbits cross twice along their journeys around it.
