Planet: Wukkar III

Wukkar III is a planet near the galactic core in the Lytton Sector. It is the third closest planet to the sun in the Wukkar System but remains cold due to a peculiar angle of rotation. Despite its unexpected climate and cratered, rocky terrain, Wukkar III has, historically, been a popular candidate for colonization because of its proximity to the core.

Like Coruscant, Wukkar III is covered by a network of cities, but the two ecumenopolises developed for different reasons. While Coruscant's urbanization grew out of continuous rebuilding of new structures on top of older layers, Wukkar III's builders were forced to connect its urban centers to maintain constant shelter from the planet's airless environment, which eventually created a planet-wide metropolis.

In recent years, Wukkar III has become one of the most densely populated planets in the region, mainly due to the importance of citizenship and the formation of large communities with unique local cultures. The planet's population has grown to billions upon billions in the past decades and continues to increase.

The city sectors within Wukkar III are organized to fit together perfectly and complement each other's specialties. Residential, industrial, and mining zones are laid out in varying patterns to maximize the potential for shorter commutes to easily accessible production hubs from urban districts where workers can maintain more affordable and luxurious lifestyles. Most of the work on Wukkar III is based around mining, which is believed to be the main reason the planet was colonized during the times of the Old Republic.
