Procopia: A planet of beauty. It has majestic oceans, swamps teeming with life, and stark deserts of sand and snow. Volcanic eruptions are common on Procopia. When a volcano erupts, it is what the locals call the “off-season.” This planet is renowned as a second home to many politicians, business moguls, and royalty.
Procopian culture has a distinctive architectural style that favors smooth curves wherever possible. This leads to interesting buildings, roadways, and statues that are found nowhere else in the galaxy. Anything with sharp edges is avoided or hidden. If your personal ship is not smooth and flowing, you will be asked or even directed to park in garages only. Everything from stairs, beds, even droids are required to be streamlined. Of course, these features are mainly found in Procopia’s megalopolis, Dexa. Dexa is composed of five towns, which include Fallit, Hooper, Layton, Nelopolis, and Davoo. This metropolitan area, which can be seen from orbit, is home to several million people and one of the wealthiest areas of the galaxy. Procopia is the envy of many, and countless vacationers seek to enjoy the spoils of this planet each year. Because of this, many restrictions have been put in place to keep the cities exclusive, just how the elite like it.
Procopia is still home to many influential politicians. Few of the aristocrats actually reside there all year round, though numerous lodges and exclusive casinos dot the coast, while the mining outposts are found far from the green oceans. In the brief summer months, nobles and politicians travel here to hunt the gundarks and to fish, or at least pretend to while hatching plots and alliances. The largest gathering of nobility is found in the southern continent, where Dexa is located, while the mining industry that harvests precious gems is hidden away towards the north, where it does not spoil the urban vista.
As for this planet’s rich history, it was colonized 7,300 years ago to serve as Shey Tapani's imperial capital. This was when Shey Tapani defeated the Rogue Houses and united the Twelve Kingdoms at the Battle of Shindra's Veil. The Tapani sector takes its name from him. It has been the home of the various elites of the galaxy ever since. But in the last few hundred years, precious metals and gems were discovered in the crust. This led to the development of mining outposts away from the cities and popular sight-seeing destinations.
From the gales blowing on the icy poles to boiling volcanos, to mining outposts and the casino overlooking the ocean, Procopia is a destination that is wanted by many but obtained by few. If you are a politician who needs a break from the government, an aristocrat who wants to gamble away the family freighting business, or a miner who has a friend who knows a friend, Procopia is the place for you.
