This planet, like all others in the Spira system, has its share of smugglers and even some pirates. One of the reasons is that Spira III provides many natural Tibanna Gas pockets that the local smugglers use to augment their illegal cargos. The pirates have a more sinister use for the gas, weapons. Indeed, because of the different criminal goals of the two groups, this planet has always been the site of hundreds of tiny skirmishes every year between the smugglers and pirates.
