Planet: Gravan Four
Table of Contents [hide]

The idyllic, pleasant world of Gravan Four is the main centre of commerce and trade within its star system. It is a continental planet of which the two primary landmasses are separated by oceans spanning the planetary equator in a wide horizontal band. Stretches of verdant woodland and jungle, as well as misty wetlands, surround the coastal regions, while the inland consists largely of green, rolling plains and hills. A magnificent mountain range dominates a significant portion of the southern hemisphere, with local legends and myths claiming that it is the burial site of a gargantuan dragon-like being that crashed onto the planet's surface eons ago. As a result, this range of mountains is most commonly known by the world's inhabitants as the Dragon's Spine.

The grassy plains of both hemispheres are inhabited by small critters such as the rodent-like squalls or larger creatures such as the grav-cats (an endemic sub-species of loth-cat) that hunt them. The birdlike nuna native to Naboo have found their way into the marshlands of Gravan Four as a result of centuries of space travel to and from the planet, while the few stretches of jungle are the primary hunting grounds of the predatory gundarks. In turn, the lush forests of the planet are prowled by the vicious nexu, while its tall trees and thick undergrowth serve as the nesting grounds for various avians.

Gravan Four had been originally discovered and settled by Humans from the Core shortly after the conclusion of the Great Hyperspace War, roughly five thousand years ago. Over the millennia that followed, it gradually developed into a bustling cosmopolitan world that grew to become a bridge between the Coreward worlds and the more distant Outer Rim. As a result, various communities of sentient species from all over the galaxy have taken shape on the planet, coming from all walks of life. While still dominated by its original Human inhabitants, the planetary population of Gravan Four grew to be colourful and diverse.

As a result of the nearby Trade Federation presence, Gravan Four was often chosen as a home by the families of its employees, in light of its idyllic conditions and cosmopolitan society. This led to a large boost in the economic and urban development of the planet over the course of the last couple of decades.
