As one of the many gas giants in the galaxy, Annaj A is relatively ignored as a planet too costly to invest colonization efforts in. However, wealthy entrepreneurs have created unipod cities and, little by little, people came to live in the skies of Annaj A. After a substantial amount of people have settled Annaj, the local government ordered the creation of four space stations; these four stations helped to bring goods, information, and money to the system. One was a costly refueling station that served a majority of the remote Moddell Sector, one was a HoloNet Communications Station, and the other two were trading posts.
When the Empire came to power, they seized Annaj without a single turbolaser blast. Within a few days, Annaj quickly became one of the most popular rendezvous points in the Imperial Navy. While Annaj was granted special gifts from the Empire, system-wide commerce completely collapsed. Eventually, the Imperial Navy withdrew after the Rebel Alliance found out and Annaj was abandoned as another colony with no influence whatsoever.
Some still come to Annaj A to survey the supernatural phenomenon of the gas giant. Annaj A looks absolutely beautiful from the observation deck of any ship. On the side of the sun, it is deep red. Then, in the middle, it turns to orange, and at the other edge, it turns purple. This extraordinary phenomenon has attracted a few to reside on the planet, though their future is unclear.
With the short Imperial presence in the system damaging the economy and destroying their four orbital stations, the future of Annaj is uncertain.
