The surface of Skor III is dotted with active volcanoes which produce seas of molten lava and pollute the air with sulfur. The cause of the high volcanic activity is unknown, although a high concentration of plant life indicates that the world was not always so tectonically unstable. Continents covered in deep, lush jungles rise up out of the lava seas. Scientific studies of the jungles show that the plant life has adapted to be resistant to the highly sulfuric air. Some companies have since used compounds derived from Skor III flora in filters for breathing masks.
