A small, pleasant planet on the edge of the Saari Ha system, Bimmisaari was uninhabited for several millennia. Just a few years prior to the rise of the Empire, a few Corellian colonists arrived on Bimmisaari and formed a primitive city on the northern coast of the ocean that spans the equator. While the colonists struggled to survive, the galaxy was thrust into a civil war and the Saari Ha System, as with much of Halla sector, was completely ignored. After weeks and months without provisions from the Old Republic, the colonists fled Bimmisaari, leaving their primitive encampment behind.

Years later, miners working for Sienar Extractions arrived on Bimmisaari , searching for a new location rich in resources. After finding multiple pockets of minerals scattered throughout the planet, Sienar officially annexed Bimmisaari and began to colonize it. Most of the residents of Bimmisaari are families of the original workers for Sienar, and most of the planetary activity is conducted in the cities. The planetary capital, Hana, is the primary city on the planet, though many have flocked to seek jobs in the outlying residential neighborhoods.
