Vlemeth Port is a hot, but habitable world orbiting its system’s star at a distance of one hundred forty seven million kilometres. A world with a modest gravitational pull, Vlemeth Port completes a solar orbit every two hundred fifty six days, and rotates completely around its axis every twenty eight hours. While it is possible to survive without thermal protection for periods of up to two hours, most sentient species will require specialized insulating suits to survive for any length of time outside the protection of vehicles or shielded facilities. Despite this heat, Vlemeth Port is a bustling, vibrant world, with great habitation towers, noisy manufactories, crowded spaceports and productive indoor farms.
Before being covered with an endless urban sprawl, the world was home to a number of small settlements, notably of Talz, whose ancestors had crashed onto the world aboard a damaged slaver transport, and a splinter faction of Mandalorians escaping from the political turmoil on their world. However, in recent decades, the system government has embarked on a great drive for economic productivity, resulting in a quantum leap in industrial and economic output, but at the cost of completely paving over the planet’s surface. Where herds of nerf and pods of cy’een once roamed the plains and vast rivers, now there is only the constant hum of speeders and the hubbub of billions of voices raised in trade, argument, praise, insult and any of the myriad interactions of sentient, material-driven species. The endless cityscapes are not without their own form of beauty, however, with glass in many hues and architecture from a hundred different species represented in towering minarets, sprawling shopping malls, expansive stadiums and glittering habitation blocks.
