Wayland III is a small planet with a diameter of roughly about 9,000 kilometers. Without a tilt to its axis, the weather is fairly uniform across the planet. Oxygen makes up a majority of the atmosphere, although the abundance of methane, helium, and other toxic gasses makes the air lethal to human and humanoid species to breathe. There is no evidence of any valuable minerals on this planet as yet, though geologists from planet Wayland determine from signs through the ages that cheap metals such as copper and nickel may be found, so evaluation teams and prospectors still visit Wayland III periodically, most stopping by planet Wayland first to pick up any available supplies before reading Wayland III, providing planet Wayland with some additional instillation of foreign money. If minerals are found, this planet may be attractive to mining companies.

On the planet surface, oceans of heavy gasses form an interesting view. The heavy gas mixture consists mainly of radon, is so heavy that it descends into the craters. The cold temperature in the craters changes the way the gas reflects light, causing the craters that collect these gasses to have a sea-like appearance. To date, no expeditions have been sent to explore the “sea beds” under the seas of heavy gasses, nor is there any interest since the gasses themselves are hardly usable for industrial purposes.
