Planet: Lelmra
Table of Contents [hide]

Lelmra is a largely rocky and mountainous world with a limited hydrosphere in the form of a small ocean near the planetary equator. Yet due to its relative proximity to the star system's primary, the planet has a rather warm and humid atmosphere, which has given rise to several expansive swathes of rainforest across its surface. Jagged, rocky terrain will abruptly end with a wall of greenery and verdancy looming up ahead, alive with the sounds of myriad lifeforms.

The mighty grachk is the apex predator within Lelmra's rainforests, which is a strong ursid-like creature capable of growing up to five meters in length when standing on its hind legs. Other creatures, such as the much more docile tivk - scaled fox-like animals - or the clever, sneaky feline praskat give the grachk a wide berth when unnoticed, or flee in terror of their hunter's lumbering form otherwise. Only the bravest warriors or the most foolish adventurers dare to face a grachk in its prime, and only a few return to herald a successful hunt.

The galactic community has been aware of Lelmra for several millennia, yet paid little heed to the world due to its modest amount of surface water, and relatively unimportant nature. As a result, the planet became an interesting target for wealthy Hutts to establish their offworld palaces on, and Lelmra turned into something of a Hutt pleasure world with exciting hunting grounds and little interference from the wider galactic community. Over the centuries, small villages and towns grew around the towering Hutt palaces, populated by fellow Hutts who sought a different life than the corruption and criminal activity that Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa offered, or other sentient species such as the Twi'leks, Nikto or Weequay who serviced the palaces as staff, entertainment, or security.

Neither the Clone Wars nor the Galactic Civil Wars affected Lelmra and its sparsely inhabited surface in recent times. Most of the planet remains undeveloped, except for the Hutt settlements around the world's small ocean, and more recent constructions established by a mining company called Centrepoint that had acquired the mineral rights. As a result, several mining operations are currently underway on Lelmra, yet its wilderness remains largely untouched and the domain of its indigenous flora and fauna.
